It was afternoon, we were done with lunch and just relaxing at the girl’s common room. Just when my colleague popped up a question to me. “Uroosa! What do you do usually after office?”
I looked at her with a causal face, “either a walk at the park or my gym!” I smiled.
“Whaaaat! You do Gym? Damn, I want someone to motivate me to do gym-ing! She exclaimed all cozied up on the couch.
“Motivate?! Motivation never comes from outside, it all comes from within you.” I instantly remarked.
On my way back home I somehow felt the need to write about two techniques that can help you immensely in self-motivation. Thus, resulted in what you are about to read now.
Use Positive Self Talk
Did you know that your mind does not have its own mind? Whatever you feed it, it’s going to process it as a truth.
The single biggest obstacle to success is the fear of failure. What if I fail? What if I am unable to lose weight? And the list goes on. Learn to use positive affirmations daily for your goal. Instead of saying ‘I can’t do it’ change it to ‘I can do it’. (I have plans to write about Self-affirmations as a whole topic, may be you can come back again and take a peek). Though this technique may seem to you as very trivial, though it has great power. Believe me, constant positive reinforcing is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It can help you raise your self-esteem and self-confidence.
Let’s just leave all the hard talk here; what you have learned or even know yet. I will share with you here a very simple formula. You want to achieve a goal right? Then start acting as if you already have it. If you act as if you believe you have lost tremendous amount of weight, then you will start to feel and act on it. Same is the case with your other goals. Your belief will create the emotions and will lead you further closer to your outcome.
The only way you can know this works is by trying it yourself. 🙂
Till next time. Ciao
